I hesitate to leave the incredibly complimentary and fantastic review this man deserves - out of fear that he will be too busy for me next time I call. He got back to me promptly, explained everything he was doing and went throughout my house troubleshooting the various issues I had. Fixed everything & did not charge me excessively. Will be my first call will any future issues. Super nice & knowledgeable

Great professional job! They resolved my list of residential electric issues in a half day, working efficiently. They were prepared and had all the necessary parts. They showed up on time. We had a concern with one circuit supporting too many important items. Unfortunately, we found out the hard way. Steve came out and split the circuit into three separate ones. He was knowledgeable, friendly and a joy to watch. I didn't comment on value only because I did not look for comparative bids and relied on other reviews. The peace of mind we now enjoy after he completed his work makes the value high for us. I highly recommend Matt-Mark.

Steve was fast, friendly and helpful. He returned my call promptly and was able to get me in the next morning. Price was fair and he was able to get my damaged sockets safe and working again. Highly recommend Steve.

Critical: Responsiveness I'd used them once before, did a good job. Recently, I've called them twice to have someone come out for a current issue, and no call back, TWICE. They must need anyone's business.

The owner Steve was SO nice! Showed up in a day to fix multiple broken breakers in our new home. He also replaced some light plates for me and we shared some stories along the way. Would hire him again in a heartbeat.

Critical: Professionalism He made an appt with us to look at our problem, never showed up, we called him and his answer was " I decided I didnt want to do a job where I have to crawl in the attic." So unprofessional wish he just would have told us that on original call.

Critical: Responsiveness Called and was on hold for over 10min before we could talk to someone. We left a message with the receptionist to have someone come out to our new house to work on several things. She took our information and said someone would call back soon. Still no call back and tomorrow will be the second day of waiting for a response.

I called Matt-Mark Electric today as one of the bedrooms in our 1 year old house, lost power. I checked the breakers, turned them off and on, but the outlets and lighting in the room would not work. I received a call from Matt-mark and the nice gentleman said he could come by tomorrow, but worked with me over the phone to explain the new breakers in new houses and how I could try resetting the breakers and then toggling them on and off again.

This seemed to do the trick and the power was back on in our room! He said he'd hates to charge people for a breaker issue. What a nice gentleman. We'd go to them anytime for any electrical issue!

Steve came out to my house on Sunday when all other electricians I called told me I would need to wait at least a week for service and bid a much higher amount for the work I needed done. In less than 2 hours, Steve managed to fix an issue we had with two outlets and our circuit breaker. Very professional, wore a mask, super friendly. Would recommend. We will certainly be reaching out to him the next time we need electrical work done (however we hope that won't be too soon, haha!).

We found Matt-Mark Electric on Yelp after another company ruined wiring in our basement when installing a doorbell. I called late on a Thursday night and left a message with their receptionist. Steve called back a few minutes later to book an appointment Saturday. He was honest with their availability, instead of rushing through the fix, he dedicated time and went above and beyond to turn back on our lights and bring everything to code. Very happy with their service and will use them again.

We called Matt-Mark because of the yelp reviews stating they returned calls quickly as we had called other electricians who didn't bother to call us back. True to the reviews, Steve called us back within 2 hours and we were scheduled a few days later. Steve was extremely friendly, professional and knowledgeable! He was on time for our appointment and quickly diagnosed the problems we were having with flickering stitches and blown breaker fuses (9yr old house) and fixed the issues.

He also quickly installed a new electrical outlet, changed a light switch for us and even tested a problem we were having with an appliance popping switches (he identified it was the appliance). All the work was quick and clean and prices were very reasonable. We can't say enough nice things about Steve and Matt-Mark! We have found our go-to electrician and have already recommended him to several neighbors.

We bought an older home in 2014 with a 100 amp breaker box that had been substantially overloaded and improperly wired. Steve came out right ato review the situation and gave us a bid to replace our electrical panel. The price was significantly less than what's customary for this type of work. My husband watched him work throughout the project.

He was methodical, patient, and precise. We are very pleased to have found Matt-Mark Electric. Steve is the best! He will be our go-to electrician forever 8-22-19: Had a problem with one circuit going out (refrigerator on it!) and my husband tried his hardest to figure it out to no avail. We were so pleased to have Steve out again to fix this new electrical problem. He diagnosed and repaired it in a few minutes. Five stars for Steve, he's great!

I would highly recommend this company for any electrical work you may have. There was quite a bit of rain which delayed the start of our project, but Steve did a great job at maintaining communication and keeping us up to speed on when everything would be worked on. He was very punctual and made sure to let me know when he was finished each day. If you are looking for a competitive quote, I would highly recommend Steve and Matt-Mark Electric.

200% reccomend this company. Steve diagnosed two problems within 5 minutes and fixed everything within 20. No minimum service call price, no trying to sell me a service plan. I have never in my life had this kind of experience with someone providing a service. If you DON'T want professionalism, reasonable prices, knowledgeable, quick and quality electrical repairs, then call one of the big electrical repair companies. You'll be much happier if you call Matt-Mark.

Needed a new outlet to run a table saw and Steve got the job done efficiently! Was thorough in going over what kind of line was needed to power the saw and made sure the cord was in working order when he noticed the machine had a potential safety issue.

I've been having electrical issues for a while now and finally called Matt-Mark this morning. I left a message and Steve called me back within an hour. After describing my problems and thinking we were needing to upgrade our service, Steve told me to call KCP&L first. So I did and someone was out here and the problem solved within less than an hour from the call.

The fix cost me nothing and when the time comes when we do upgrade our service I will call Matt-Mark to do the job. So if you have crazy blinking lights and lights doing weird things when something else is running--call KCP&L first!

I am sure all the positive reviews here are accurate, but if they never call you back then what's the point. I have made about 4 attempts to schedule and estimate (not the work, just the estimate!) and nobody would get back to me. Another guy on here said he had the same experience a couple of years ago. That means that this must happen with some regularity.

For every person who complains, there are 10 more out there who don't, but are equally dissatisfied. If you've got all the time in the world to wait for a response, then maybe these are your guys. If time is important to you, look elsewhere.

I just contacted the office and the dispatcher has a tremendous attitude. I called for service to install a 30 amp twist lock receptacle for the Omnicare Pharmacy and she 1st terminated the call before I can proceed with my service request. I called back immediately and she was so rude and obnoxious by saying with a long pause -hmmmm, umm no we don't do this type of work.

I appreciate honestly of course, what I don;t appreciate is people that have a shitty attitude about their job and customer service skills. Its employees such as this that dont allow the company to succeed. You were my fist selection as I saw the BBB photo. Go figure.

We purchased a house that had major issues in the basement. The electrical wiring was a nightmare and a safety concern. I would highly recommend him. Itwas great working with Steve. Steve was on time and extremely professional. He took the time to explain what the issues were and completed the job in a timely manner. Steve went out of his way to protect the floors by wearing foot protection when he made trips out to his vehicle to get the tools he needed. In addition, his quote for the work was fair and the amount didn't change once the job was completed. I will definitely recommend his service to friends and family.

When we were selling our home the inspection indicated that water had entered the breaker box and it needed to be replaced. Steve promptly arrived, inspected and gave me his bid. He was back the next day and had the box installed in about two hours. His work was thorough and complete and his bid was reasonable for the work he accomplished. I have recommended him to others in our area who find that they need an electrician.

Fantastic customer service - fast, friendly and reasonably priced. Explained 100% of what the issue was, worked to correct it and was in and out within an hour. Before the appointment was even set, Steve made sure that I checked out some basics at home with my electrical issue to ensure that it wasn't something that could be easily fixed without an appointment - that's when you know someone is in the business for the right reason: to help people! What was even better was that he made it same day service from call to completion! I would call Steve again in a heartbeat if I needed anything done!

I would call Steve again if I need additional electrical service. He was recommended by several neighbors. He came the same day I called. He was on time, tidy, and reasonably priced. It is hard to find these qualities in contractors. I will be passing his information along to others who need an electrician.

Nobody wants to need an electrician. Electricity is scary to me, so when KCPL changed my meter cover and told me I needed to call an electrician to fix the circuits that kept going on and off, I about freaked. My electricity was dangerous. Probably, expensively dangerous. Not knowing an electrician that had the time to come over and check it out, I turned to Yelp (of course!). Matt-Mark is the only electrical contractor with multiple 5 stars, and he's a fellow Northlander. Steve, the owner, deserves every star. First, he called me back less than 5 minutes after I left my number.

Very friendly and easy to talk to, he came out and looked at my meter that day (I was at work), asked me to send him pictures of my ancient breaker boxes, and gave me a price that night. He got all the necessary city and KCPL permits and was at my house early yesterday morning to replace my defective meter and obsolete breaker boxes. Expensive? Well, not as bad as I feared, certainly cheaper than my house catching fire.

He cleaned everything up, put my washer back and arranged for the city to inspect the work the next day. Completely professional, but at the same time personable and fun to talk to. No, you never want to need an electrician. But if you do, Steve with Matt-Mark is your guy.

Steve came out to repair some loose wires in our home this afternoon. We previously used referrals from friends and family but since electric work can be serious, we decided to do our own research and that's how we found Steve (YELP)! It's hard to find good people nowadays who do good quality work and won't rip you off but Steve is all the above!

Thanks to Yelp we finally found our electrician and will call on Steve for any and all future work. He will exceed your expectations and will likely be one of the kindest ppl you will know. Thanks Steve, was our pleasure!
