There has been a lot of ups & downs since Covid initially hit and REC really has impressed me with pretty much everything and anything I've had to contact them about. Between covid and having a girl who had been a roomate run up the bill excessively during her stay which had made my covid balance suffer further they have just gone above and beyond to let me know there were applications to recieve aid & to fix or amend payment plans or whatever the case may be. Im not sure if Cecilia with whom I just spoke to is at the Culpeper location or where but she was kind, compassionate & amazingly professional while she helped me work out an issue over the phone.

She was just a joy to speak with. I hope the area I move to is still within their service area so that I can have them as a provider again. They really do go above & beyond for their customers despite some of the negative flak they've gotten from the community during storms when mass outages happen. Thank you REC!

My friend just found out this is her new electric company and all I have to say is I would actually reconsider renting in the area Rappahannock electric covers. I used to have them& hands down the worst utility company ever. After moving and having Dominion energy was a breathe of fresh air. Dominion energies customer service is top tier, their website and paying your bill is so simple, and 10000000x cheaper! SO RUN!

And also I myself had a power outage one night and called at like 10pm one night and there was a guy out 45 min later checking my power THEY ARE ON TOP OF EVERYTHING AND SUPER KIND! EVERYTHING RAPPAHANNOCK ELECTRIC ISN'T! and all of the rude customer service ladies at Rappahannock electric sound like a bunch of unhappy housewives when you call about an issue or your bill that sounds beside themselves someone is interrupting their day at the office gossiping& online shopping

All I can say is I wish we had Dominion. After not having power for 5 days in January I thought at least my power bill will be lower in February. WRONG! It's actually more. And than I try to call their customer service and no answer. I send an email and no response. Wish I had a choice on power companies!

If you tell your customers you are sending crews to their problems. "Their in route". 3 days in a row without actually dispatching a crew, Your a liar. Thats all we are getting from this company. Going on a week without power. No wonder people are trying to restore power on their own.

Shout out to the linemen they truly are heros. The Company itself is a joke. The public communication is the worst I've ever seen in a company getting peoples hopes up by posting on FB that there are crews assigned to an area just to change it hours later and remove those areas is heart breaking. There are interactive maps online that show when outages are reported and seeing where areas have linemen on site for outages reported 2 days after mine really show that there is no rhyme or reason on how the situation is being handled. Having an infant at home and pet sacrifices had to be made during.

I had to leave my home letting my pet fish freeze to death to make sure my family is warm including my 10 day old son. All of my food had to be thrown out and now I have to worry about my pipes freezing. The power line is down over my driveway and was actively on fire for more than 6 hours before I had to make the call to just drive over the line. REC was not taking phone calls and couldn't give me guidance the fire department looked at the fire for mere seconds before backing out of the road and never coming back.

Just like with every service there is no perfect science but this really takes the cake for the worst experience I have ever encountered with a service. With how expensive the service is I guess I just anticipated better service and better communication.

Fine company until you are late on a payment. I had a payment due on Dec. 23. With Christmas coming up, I was tight on money and didn't end up getting the payment off until the 28th. On the 29th of December (yes, AFTER I had paid my bill) they sent someone out to cut off my power. In winter. With four kids, including a newborn, in the house. My wife had to beg them not to turn the power off and finally they relented. Terrible company. I wish I could rate them zero stars. I wish I had the choice to use a different provider.

January 5th 2022. 53 hours without power. Will y'all please send a crew to Gosling Lane, Locust Grove, our whole neighborhood has power except us. I just woke up with frozen. How in the world did this company not prepare for a storm we knew was coming. Honestly if you drive around the area of their grid you can tell the lines are not well maintained.

I get it, I hope all crews are performing their jobs safely, but I'm 100 percent positive some of these outages could have been prevented. Also horrible customer service system, all they can say is that an outage has been reported. I watched neighbors with elderly family and kids have to sleep in their cars last night. It was truly a sad scene. Will have to purchase a generator next winter as this company screams unreliability.

Unacceptable amount of power outages. No updates. No timeline on when power will be restored. What are we paying for? To get power outages every month for hours at a time with no response? When dominion energy keeps their residents fully powered during the same weather conditions. Truly not okay.

I would give REC a -1 if I could. We live in Malvern of Madison on Liberty Lane and still don't have power! The ENTIRE neighborhood has been restored except for a few houses on Liberty Lane. It's been 4 days and no crew has been to look. A neighborhood a couple miles down the road just lost power yesterday and they already have a crew on the scene.

No communication at all from REC. There's a tree still hanging on the power line right down from my house and no one has been to check it. Poor preparation and leadership on their part!

Elect off since Monday. Their web site says the 5th. We are not on their map. My husband drove in and talked with someone because we had power back on for a little while then it went off again. He was told the crew was pulled to go to a subdivision. It's Fri. Afternoon and still no power. Maybe REC should. Make it a priority to hire. Feel like I'm in a 3rd world country.

Jan 2 2022. A storm that was predicted & you were not able to protect power lines so that all us paying customers could maintain power. You're suppose to be proactive by keeping lines free from trees, not this reactive now that the trees have taken down the lines. We're being told now that it will be the end of the week. Pitiful & completely unprofessional

Very expensive service, regular extended power outages. Saw multiple other negative valid reviews today get removed. I'm learning to regret purchasing my home in their network.
