To sign up for service please follow the directions for Application for Membership. To stop or transfer service, members can visit our office or contact us during business hours at 503-362-3601. Salem Electric is a not-for-profit cooperative corporation that delivers electricity to their consumer-members at cost.
Programs & Services

The Salem Electric member assistance program is available to qualifying members whose household income does not exceed income guidelines. Assistance is limited to a one-time $175 bill credit per household, per year. Funds are available through September, or when funds are expended. For more information on assistance programs available to members, please contact our office.
Washington D.C. Youth Tour

In June, students from Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Idaho will participate in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Youth Tour. High school juniors and seniors who live in our service area have the opportunity once a year to apply for an all-expense-paid trip to Washington D.C. to learn about the electric utility industry and how the Federal legislative process works. They will explore museums, memorials, and monuments, and have the opportunity to meet with Oregon's congressional representatives.
