A Custom Electric installed our whole stage lighting for our Pasadena community center. They installed the lights, and the control panel. They have been back since to check the safety of each light and inspect the control panel. They are competent, creative, helpful and perfectionists. I recently hired A Custom Electric for an emergency repair where a plumber cut through an electrical pipe when he was sawing a cement slab at the Wallis Theater in Beverly Hills. We were on a deadline to get this repaired and restore the electrical power that afternoon. Michael showed up within 30 minutes, repaired the pipe, replaced the cut wires and had the electricity restored within 90 minutes of arriving.

In the past I've used him to install a 200 amp main electrical panel on a commercial building we were working on and was very happy with his workmanship and attention to detail. A Custom Electric cares about their work and taking care of the customer!

A Custom Electric was awesome. They arrived when they said they would. Matt was a pleasure over the phone. They arrived to install 220v wiring for my plug-in hybrid charging station. I wish I could remember the electricians name who arrived at the house because he did a great job. He had to work a little harder on keeping everything ascetically pleasing to satisfy my OCD and he came through big time. Thank you for being great! Will definitely recommend and use in the future.

The world would be a much better place if every business conducted itself like A Custom Electric. The owner, Michael James, has deep and extensive knowledge of electrical wiring, from new construction all the way back to early 20th century structures like my home. He has performed all sorts of work for me, from moving lighting fixtures, running electrical lines for a new oven and upgrading my entire panel to 200 amp service.

He treats his customers like they are his own family. He will take time to patiently explain (and re-explain) all of your options, allowing you to make truly informed decisions on any work performed. His pricing is reasonable and he works diligently to save you as many hard earned dollars as possible. A Custom Electric is truly a class act. Highly Recommend!

I was fortunate enough to find Michael with A Custom Electric. He is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and kind. Best of all, he has work ethic and actually cares. He also had the best pricing in town! Powell Electric tried to charge $99 just to come out and look at the problem for example! Compared to prior electricians used & another estimate received, Michael was half the price and did a FANTASTIC JOB! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND A CUSTOM ELECTRIC! 5 stars for honest money saving advice from someone I've never met! I called because the wiring on my doorbell doesn't work. He told me that I could fix it for around $800-1000 or I could just go buy a battery operated doorbell instead. He even told me the best place to buy one in my neighborhood. Nice to know that there are still honest people out there. Thanks! Will definitely call when I need an electrician in the future.

Michael has done work now in both my restaurants and in my home. We have had other electricians in the past come in and while their work was basically "fine" insofar as the buildings never burned down, we have always felt that Michael's work really excels in the finishing details. All switches are level. Conduit is always run neatly. He's a great problem solver too and we never feel that we are paying for work that we don't need.

I had a partial power outage recently. For those of us who's had this happen before, it is not fun. I was lucky that Michael was available to come check it out for me. The power miraculously came back on just before (simultaneous?) with Michael's arrival. He took no credit for bringing the power back on (see: honest) and proceeded to conduct a through examination of everything, trying his best to identify any potential problems or causes. Michael was helpful, knowledgeable, and honest. I would definitely recommend him for anyone who's in a bind and needs an experienced pair of hands or even just an expert opinion. He'll be my go-to electrician from now on.

Talk about honest! As fair as they ever get, and the price is what you might expect to pay in, oh say. Nepal. He is so ridiculously inexpensive it feels like 1950 (even though I was not alive then). Just a fantastic man. If only plumbers and mechanics were this honest and affordable.

Great experience with Michael and his crew from A Custom. Rewired and hang some lights and swapped out a number of fixtures we were not happy with. I found this company through a friend of mine who they do commercial work for. I almost fried myself in my apartment trying to wire a new ceiling fan. My landlord was too cheap to get it installed. So i called A. Custom. It was a small job, but they came on time and actually took care of it right then and there. Maybe took them an hour. Very minimal charge for it also and they fixed my Garbage disposal for free. Nice company, very professional, worked very clean and seemed real honest. I would definitely use them again.

Michael and his team are fast friendly and efficient. They rewired 2 apts and put in 3 new breaker boxes including a new meter tree well under the estimated time. I would definitely recommended them to anyone living in the Miracle Mile area if LA.

It was the first time I called and I really needed to get the lights in my bathroom fixed. They had shorted out a couple of days earlier and using the bathroom in the dark is no fun. Michael came out in the rain at super short notice and fixed everything and then because there was still extra time and he charges a 1 hour minimum he fixed a couple more things for us too. This guy is super nice, really professional, totally cool. I would recommend him to anyone.

I called to get two outlets checked out in my kitchen, and the guy was like "you can do it yourself! just check the GFI, I don't want to charge you for something so simple" and he was right! I love these guys and due to their complete honesty I would highly recommend them to anyone I know for electrical. When it's time for me to replace/redo some wiring, I am definitely going to call them to help me out. Didn't catch the electrician's name but This company definitely kicks ass. My bathroom light is on some kind of electrical menstrual cycle. sometimes the light turns on, sometimes it is off. i did what i could to troubleshoot before i called a custom electric, but to be honest with you, the best thing i could do was to check the light bulb and the fuse box. come on now! i ain't no electrician.nor did the idea of getting electrocuted seemed appealing to me. i spoke to michael over the phone and he offered a reasonable rate for the house call. he was able to show up the same day too which was great for me cuz shitting in the dark is not my cup of tea. anyways, it turned out it was a loose screw somewhere in the light fixture.ugh. a slightly unreasonable part of me was secretly hoping that it was a bigger problem than just a loose screw because MAN did i feel like an ass. anyways, it got "fixed." the bathroom light has been faithfully on ever since.

After trying many electricians with mixed results, I finally stumbled upon a great one! They installed track lighting in my studio and did an outstanding job. Michael James owns the company, and Rojelio did the work. Both were courteous, hard-working, and reliable. The rates were more than reasonable, and when there was a problem with the dimmer buzzing, they tried several things (at no charge to me) until they solved the problem. Michael stands by his work and I'd recommend him to anyone. Also, I could swear I saw positive reviews on Michael somewhere else on yelp, but now I can't. It may be under another listing. But I know he does have great reviews on citysearch. Just look up "A Custom Electric."
